This guide explains how to handle duplicate or non-serviceable customers in TCS by renaming instead of deleting, since deletion is not supported due to data dependencies.
1. Open the Customer Record
Locate the customer profile you no longer want to service or that is duplicated.
2. Rename the Customer to Indicate Status
Edit the last name field to include text such as "Do Not Service" or "Duplicate".
Example: Holly Moore → Holly Moore (Do Not Service).
3. Save the Updated Customer Name
Click Save so the status displays clearly in the customer list and exports.
4. Verify Updated Name Appears in Searches
Search the customer list to ensure the updated label makes it easy to distinguish from active records.
Notes / Watch-Outs
TCS does not allow deleting customers due to stored data such as payments, addresses, and payroll history.
Renaming ensures clarity in exports and prevents service mistakes.
Use consistent naming labels (e.g., "(Duplicate)" or "(Do Not Service)") for clean organization.
