Enable automatic Stripe receipts so customers receive an email confirmation after paying an invoice or receiving a refund. If a customer cannot find their receipt, you can resend it directly from Stripe.
Step 1. Enable customer receipt emails
- In Stripe, go to Settings
- Select Business
- Click Customer Emails
- Turn on:
- Successful Payments
- Refunds
- Click Save
Step 2. Automatic receipts
- After a customer pays an invoice, Stripe automatically emails a receipt to the email address on file.
- If you issue a refund, Stripe will also automatically send a refund receipt.
Step 3. Resend a receipt
- Open the customer's Stripe Profile
- Locate the payment
- Click the Send Receipt (envelope) icon
- Stripe will immediately re-email the receipt to the customer
Notes
- Receipts are sent from Stripe, not TCS.
- Receipts are sent to the customer's email address stored in Stripe.
- If a customer cannot locate their receipt, check their spam or junk folder before resending.
- The Send Receipt option can be used at any time to resend a payment receipt.
Notes
These emails are sent directly from Stripe, not TCS
The receipt email uses the Stripe customer email, NOT the TCS customer email so ensure it is accurate
Recommended best practice to keep Successful Payments and Refunds enabled at all times
This applies to invoice payments, not just one-time charges
