How to Auto-Save Cards on File in Stripe and TCS

Configure Stripe so customer payment methods are automatically saved whenever they pay an invoice. This allows TCS to reuse the card for future auto-charges.

Step 1. Open Invoice Settings

• In Stripe, go to Settings
• Select Billing → Invoices

Step 2. Enable Automatic Card Saving

• Scroll to Default Payment Terms
• Enable Save customer payment information

This automatically saves the customer's card after they pay an invoice.

Step 3. Do NOT Require Customer Opt-In

• Make sure Ask customers to save their payment method is NOT enabled
• Leave only Save customer payment information enabled

This prevents customers from having to manually choose whether to save their card.

Step 4. Save Your Settings

• Click Save
• Future invoice payments will automatically save the customer's payment method in Stripe

Notes

• Automatically saved cards can be linked to TCS for future recurring payments.
• If customers are asked to opt in, many will not save their card, and Stripe will treat the payment as a one-time payment.
• Enabling automatic card saving reduces follow-up work and improves future auto-charge success.
