This video shows how to turn on automatic email receipts in Stripe so customers receive confirmation after paying an invoice or receiving a refund.
1. Open Stripe Settings
Log in to Stripe
Click the gear icon (Settings) in the top-right corner
2. Go to Customer Emails
In Settings, select Business
On the right-hand side, click Customer Emails
3. Enable Successful Payment Emails
Turn on Successful payments
This ensures customers receive a receipt after paying an invoice
4. Enable Refund Emails
Turn on Refunds
Customers will automatically receive a receipt if a refund is issued
5. Confirm Receipt Delivery
When a customer pays an invoice:
Stripe sends the receipt to the email on file in Stripe
No manual action is required
Notes
These emails are sent directly from Stripe, not TCS
The receipt email uses the Stripe customer email, NOT the TCS customer email so ensure it is accurate
Recommended best practice to keep Successful Payments and Refunds enabled at all times
This applies to invoice payments, not just one-time charges
