Create a $0 card authorization product in GHL, build a card capture form connected to that product, and share the form link with customers so they can securely place a card on file.
If you have a marketing company that uses GHL then you can request if they can build this for you.
Step 1. Connect Stripe to GHL
- In GHL, go to Payments
- Verify Stripe is connected
- Complete the connection if it has not already been set up
Step 2. Create a Card Authorization Product
- Go to Payments → Products
- Create a product called Card on File Authorization
- Set the price to $0
- Add your card-on-file authorization language and terms
- Save the product
Step 3. Build the Card Capture Form
- Go to Sites → Forms
- Create a new form
- Add:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Phone Number
- Required authorization checkbox
- Add the Card on File Authorization product to the form
- Make sure the form is set to Live Mode
Step 4. Configure the Customer Experience
- Add your logo and company branding
- Create a thank-you message or redirect page
- Keep the authorization language visible and easy to understand
- Save the form
Step 5. Share the Form
- Click Integrate → Share
- Copy the form link
- Send it by text, email, or include it in your TCS quote emails
- Once submitted, the customer's card will be saved in Stripe and can be linked to TCS
Notes
- The product must be set to $0 so customers are not charged.
- Always test the form before sending it to customers.
- Save the form link as a GHL snippet for quick texting.
- Make sure the form is in Live Mode, not Test Mode.
-
After submission, connect the Stripe Customer ID and Payment Method ID to the customer in TCS.
