Tips with Shared Jobs
This explains how to apply a one-time tip for a shared job, ensuring each technician gets the correct amount for payroll.
Step 1: Access the Job
Open the recurring job that has a one-time tip associated with it.
Step 2: Verify Tip Amount
Confirm the total tip amount the customer left.
Step 3: Split the Tip
Allocate the tip between the technicians. For example, if the total tip is $20 and two technicians worked, split it $10 each.
Step 4: Check Special Scenarios
One-time tips require verification in case:
A technician left early.
A technician missed the job.
Adjust the tip allocation accordingly to avoid errors.
Step 5: Save the Tip
Click Save to apply the tip to the technicians’ payroll.
Notes: Common Mistakes to Avoid
⚠️ Not verifying tip amount on shared jobs — always confirm total tip before splitting.
⚠️ Incorrect allocation — if one technician missed part of the job, ensure the tip reflects the work completed.
⚠️ Not saving — the tip won’t appear in payroll unless saved properly.
