This process explains how to properly set up short-term rental (STR) and vacation rental cleanings in the cleaning software using a yearly subscription and a dedicated service type, allowing flexibility for one-off and irregular cleanings while keeping detailed notes.
1. Create a Yearly Frequency
Go to Company Settings.
Open Frequencies.
Create a new frequency called Yearly.
Set the frequency to every 365 days.
Save the frequency.
This allows STR jobs to exist as subscriptions without requiring weekly or bi-weekly scheduling.
2. Create a Short-Term Rental Service Type
Go to Service Types.
Create a new service type.
Name it something like:
Short-Term Rental
Vacation Rental
Set the Frequency to Yearly.
Choose your pricing method:
Flat rate
Hourly
Customized rate
Set cleaner payout:
Hourly, or
Percentage of total job price (including add-ons and laundry)
3. Configure Notifications & Auto-Charge
Disable notifications if:
You are the property owner, or
The owner does not want automated messages.
Enable notifications if the owner wants them.
Enable or disable Auto-Charge just like any other service type.
4. Configure Quotes, Pricing, and Multipliers
Choose whether this service type should:
Appear on your Quote Form, or
Be internal only
Enter pricing details if applicable.
Add multipliers as needed:
Example: solo cleaner multipliers
Save the service type.
5. Confirm Service Type Is Active
Verify the new Short-Term Rental service type appears in your service type list.
It is now ready to be used for STR and vacation rental jobs.
Notes
Short-term rentals often require detailed notes and staging instructions, making them ideal for one-off or irregular scheduling.
Using a yearly subscription keeps the job active without forcing recurring schedules.
This setup allows:
Flexible scheduling
Cleaner payout accuracy
Proper reporting
Always double-check notification and auto-charge settings based on owner preferences.
