Step 11: Set Up Service Type Formulas (Quick Guide)

Short quick guide to set up service type formulas. 

NOTE: We have made some minor updates, however the core concepts of this training is still up to date.

Decide if you need a formula

• Skip if you pay by clock-in/clock-out (set in user file).

• Continue if you pay per-job or commission.

Open Service Type

• Go to Company Settings → Service Types → Edit.

Choose correct variables

Write the formula

• Example hourly: ( route_net_service_time * user_rate_per_hour ).

• Example commission: ( job_service_price * percentage_take ).

Save & test

• Create sample jobs with known values and confirm system payout matches your manual math.

Adjust & finalize

• Update variables or percentages as needed.

• Retest before going live.
