This explains how to set up and link a Stripe account to The Cleaning Software for processing customer payments and ensuring smooth financial transactions.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A STRIPE ACCOUNT:
Sign Up for a Stripe Account:
- Go to Stripe’s website and sign up for an account if you do not already have one.
- Immediately after setting up your account, charge $5 to initiate the auto-charge process. (CORRECTION: IT TAKES 5-7 BUSINESS DAYS FOR THE FIRST PAYMENT TO PROCESS FOR NEW STRIPE ACCOUNTS)

Access Stripe API Keys:
- After creating your Stripe account, log in and navigate to the API keys section:
- You can find this by typing API in the search bar of your Stripe dashboard.
- In the API section, you will find two keys:
- Public Key: Used to identify your Stripe account with public-facing operations.

Secret Key: This is the key used for secure, private transactions.
Note: Do not use MK ID.........it will not connect Stripe to TCS...See image below:
- After creating your Stripe account, log in and navigate to the API keys section:

Copy the Secret Key:
- When you first generate the Secret Key, Stripe will give you one chance to copy it.
- Copy the Secret Key immediately, as you will not be able to retrieve it later.
- If needed, you can generate a new Secret Key from your Stripe dashboard in the future.

Link the Secret Key to The Cleaning Software:
- In The Cleaning Software, go to Branch Settings and select Third-Party Services.
- Under Stripe Secret Key:
- Click Set Value.
- Enter your TCS password to unlock this field.
- Paste the Secret Key copied from Stripe into the field.
- Click Accept to save the key.

Copy the Public Key:
- Go back to your Stripe account and copy the Public Key.
- This key is used for public-facing elements of payment processing.

Link the Public Key to The Cleaning Software:
- In The Cleaning Software, go to Branch Settings and select Third-Party Services.
- Under Stripe Public Key:
- Click Set Value.
- Enter your TCS password to unlock this field.
- Paste the Public Key copied from Stripe into the field.
- Click Accept to save the key.

Verify Your Stripe Setup:
- Once both keys are saved, test your Stripe integration by processing a small transaction.
- Ensure that everything is properly linked by checking both The Cleaning Software and Stripe for successful payment activity.

Quality Control:
- Verify that the correct keys are entered into The Cleaning Software to avoid payment processing errors.
- Test the Stripe integration by charging a small amount (e.g., $5) to ensure that the system is functioning correctly.
- Keep a backup of the Stripe API keys in a secure location for future reference if needed.
