How to use Active Subscription Report
This guide explains how the Active Subscriptions Report works, how the “As Of” date affects your totals, and how to select the correct date to get an accurate count of recurring customers.
1. Open the Active Subscriptions Report
Go to the Reports page.
Select Active Subscriptions.
This report always runs based on an “As Of” date.
2. Understand the “As Of” Date Logic
The report only includes subscriptions that have started on or before the selected date.
Example:
As of December 18 → 31 active subscriptions
As of December 31 → subscription count increases because new recurring services begin before that date
Subscriptions that start after the selected date will not appear.
3. How Future Subscriptions Are Counted
If a customer signs up today but starts recurring service next week:
They will not appear if today’s date is selected
They will appear if the selected “As Of” date is after their start date
This ensures the report reflects only active recurring customers as of that point in time.
4. Match the Report With Your Subscriptions Page
When viewing the Subscriptions section, you may see a higher total count.
Example:
Subscriptions page shows 33 subscriptions
Active Subscriptions Report shows 31 when run as of December 18
The difference is due to:
Subscriptions that start between December 18 and December 31
When the report is run as of December 31, the totals will match.
5. Best Practice for Accurate Reporting
Always run the report using the end of the month date.
For year-end reporting:
Use December 31
This gives you the most accurate snapshot of:
Active recurring customers
Subscription growth for the period
Notes
The Active Subscriptions Report is date-driven, not real-time.
New subscriptions only appear after their start date.
End-of-month dates prevent undercounting recurring customers.
This method keeps reports consistent for accounting and planning.
