How to Bump a Job - One Time or Recurring
Use Bump when the company needs to move a job (staffing, weather, etc.). Bumping moves the appointment to a new date, optionally applies a goodwill discount, records the change in the Interactions Log, and updates the schedule (removes the original date and recalculates hours/time slots).
1. Locate the Job
Find the job on the map (e.g., scheduled for Tuesday the 6th).
Open the job details page for that appointment.
2. Choose “Bump” Option
Click Reschedule Job, then select Bump.
Bump is used when the company needs to move a job (e.g., due to staff illness, scheduling issues, or weather).
Reschedule/Skip is used when the client makes the change.
3. Select New Date and Schedule
Set the new cleaning date (e.g., move from Tuesday the 6th to Thursday the 8th).
Choose whether to resume the normal rotation after that (e.g., go back to the 13th).
4. Add Notes and Discounts (Optional)
Leave a clear comment explaining why the bump occurred (e.g., “Moved to Thursday due to staff illness”).
You can optionally apply a discount to apologize for the inconvenience (e.g., $25 off a $200 cleaning).
5. Save and Confirm
Click Save to finalize the change.
Check the Interactions Log — it will show:
The bump details (old and new dates)
Any discount applied
The name of the user who made the change
6. Verify on Schedule Map
The job will no longer appear on the original date (Tuesday).
The hours and time slots for that day update automatically.
On the new date (Thursday), the job will now appear with the updated time and any applied discounts.
Tips:
Always leave detailed comments for tracking.
Use discounts sparingly but strategically when rescheduling inconveniences clients.
Bumped jobs automatically update hours, assignments, and pricing on the calendar.
