How to Skip a Job - One Time or Recurring
Use Skip when a client requests to cancel or skip a scheduled visit but wants to continue service on the next regular date. Skipping removes the current job from the schedule, automatically adjusts hours, and resumes billing and rotation on the next cleaning date.
Step-by-Step: How to Skip a Job
Open Job Details
Locate the job on the Schedule or Map View.
Click into the job to open its full details page.
Access the Skip Option
Click Reschedule Current Job at the top.
Select Skip from the three options: Reschedule, Skip, or Bump.
Confirm the Current Job
Verify the job you’re skipping shows the correct date and client name.
Select the Next Cleaning Date
The system auto-fills the next regular cleaning (e.g., weekly → next Monday).
If the client wants to change future days (e.g., move to Thursdays), adjust here.
Example: Skip 5/5 → next cleaning 5/12 → resume normal rotation 5/19.
Add Skip Comments
Clearly describe the reason and new date.
Example: “Client requested skip for 5/5, resume 5/12 on normal schedule.”
Apply Fees or Adjust Time (Optional)
Skip Fee – Add if your policy includes a cancellation charge.
Extra Time – Add additional minutes/hours to the next visit if buildup is expected.
Note: Skip fees charged on the following visit; extra time carries over.
Save Changes
Click Save to finalize the skip.
Confirm the success message appears on screen.
Verify the Update
Check the Map/Schedule View:
The skipped job no longer appears on the original date.
Hours for that day are updated automatically.
Go to the Interactions Log:
Confirm the skip entry, reason, and any charges applied.
Notes & Best Practices
Skip = Client requested
Bump = Company requested
Reschedule = Client changed dateAlways include detailed comments (reason + next date) for clear records.
Use skip fees to recover lost time or late cancellations.
Add extra time on next cleaning if the home will require more work.
Skipped jobs are removed completely from the schedule view (no SK dot).
Helps maintain accurate payroll, job count, and revenue reports.
Ideal for maintaining service flow without deleting or disrupting the recurring subscription.
